Where there is goodness, evil is sure to follow. Where there is light, darkness is never far behind.

Belleeza isn’t the angel your parents told you about as a child. She’s a weapon. A warrior. But even warriors have their weaknesses—and even warriors can have their hearts broken. Betrayed by the only man she’s ever loved, Belleeza throws herself into an unusual mission to find a missing teenage boy. But the treacherous path she finds herself on could lead her closer towards the darkness than she had ever imagined—perhaps even into the depths of Hell itself. And what about Colton, the beautiful angel turned demon who trampled all over her heart?

Let’s Interview…

How did you come up with the title?

The title was easy. The story revolves around an Angel and Anarchy came up a few times in the storyline. Angelic Anarchy came to mind and I loved the way it rolled off the tongue. It summed up the story nicely. It also gave me an idea for all the future title in the series. I already had the outline for the 2nd book when I came up with Angelic Anarchy. So, I knew Book 2 would have a major betrayal. That’s when it occurred to me to keep with the pattern—AA, BB, CC…and so on. So, Book 2 was titled Beautiful Betrayal before I even wrote it.

Tell us about your book cover and how it relates to your story?

Love my covers—both were done by the talented Claudia of Phatpuppy Art Studios. The cover shows a woman wielding a sword of fire. Belleeza has many abilities as an angel warrior—one of them being to call light and fire to the palms of her hands.

What sort of personality does your heroine have?

Belleeza is a complicated creature. She suffered from many major losses. As such, she trained herself to clip her emotions. She views emotions as weakness and to avoid any further pain—she became cold and disconnected. She buried all the heartache deep down and the more she struggles to maintain composure the more she seems to implode with rage and resentment. She has a warrior’s mentality—brave, strong-willed, and honorable. However, she’s also angry, confused, and heartbroken.

Did you enjoy writing one scene above all the rest? If so, share.

Yes, there are several scenes that I enjoyed writing. I especially like the final scenes. However, there is a scene when the heroin, Belleeza, is forced to remember some very dark points in her relationship with Colton. Colton was Belleeza’s soul mate and partner—he was also warrior angel until he lost his wings and became a demon. In this scene, Belleeza relieves one horrible fight after another with Colton. It was very raw and realistic. All couples have those moments or dark periods at some point so it kind of hits close to home.

How long have you been writing? How long have you been published?

I started writing in 2012. Angelic Anarchy is my debut novel—I’ve only been published since September 2016.

What genre/genres do you prefer to write? Are there other genres you’d like to write in the future?

I love paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I have some ideas for contemporary and psychological romance that I may pursue in the future.

Do you write books in series? If so, share a bit about the series you currently have published or are coming soon.

Yes, Angelic Anarchy is Book 1 of the Heaven on Earth Series. Book 2, Beautiful Betrayal, is scheduled for release on April 4, 2017. Also, in the works is Book 1 of a new series with all new characters and creatures. I hope to release that one late summer.

If you could make changes to a story you’ve already written, which would it be and why?

Yes, absolutely. I received a lot of great constructive criticism on Angelic Anarchy from reviewers and beta readers. With it being my first book I wasn’t aware of my weaknesses as a writer. I was overly detailed and the pace wasn’t quite right. I was told a few times that it had too much action. I was also told several times that it starts a bit slow until midpoint and then it takes off and finishes strong. I applied everything I learned from Book 1 to Book 2 and it seems to flow at a much more natural pace. I hope to continue to improve with all future works. At some point, I’d like to go back and revise Angelic Anarchy.

Excerpt

CHAPTER 1

Scalding hot water traced the scars along my back as I placed my hands against the stone shower wall. As a warrior angel, I have survived several years of battle, but not unscathed. I have many battle wounds—most of which reside on my back and arms. Wounds from human weapons we tend to heal without a problem; wounds by the weapons of angels and demons are not so forgiving.

After weeks of searching for him, last night I finally caught up with the demon I had been hunting. He put up a ferocious fight and my muscles were still aching despite the heat of the shower but I would be getting briefed on my next case soon so reluctantly I reached out and turned off the faucet.

Just before I stepped out of the shower, I froze. The air changed, and I knew that I was no longer alone. Don’t ask me how I knew because I couldn’t tell you. Not really. There was no pop, or bells; no flash of light, breezes, or anything like that. It was as if there was just the slightest shift in the air. I braced for attack, reached my right hand behind my back, and unsheathed a sword that wasn’t there a moment before. My heavenly relics—my weapons—are always there when I need them and never when I don’t. Where they go when I am unarmed, I have no idea. All that matters to me is that they are there when I reach for them.

With my left foot, I kicked open the glass door and stepped out into the empty bathroom, dripping wet. Utterly naked but for my sword. I peeked around the door and slowly entered my bedroom.

“What do you want?” I said to the empty room, making my voice as calm as possible.

“Relax, Beauty, I’m completely unarmed,” said a humored voice without a face. “You’re looking just as scrumptious as the last time we faced each other.”

A dark-haired figure walked in, full of ease, and leaned against my bedroom door, crossing his feet. He had an apple from my dining-room table in his hand. I spun my sword, placing the tip of it into his throat the moment he walked through the door. He brought the apple to his mouth, rubbed it against his shirt, and took a big bite, looking as though he didn’t have a care in the world.

It was Colton. My heart leapt in my chest. It had been a few years since I’d last seen him.

Just as beautiful as he was the day he walked away . . . Except that now he was a demon, of course.
